Job Summary: The Retail Associate is responsible for assisting customers, maintaining the store’s visual standards and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations in the beach shop. This role involves providing excellent customer service, stocking merchandise and processing sales while promoting a fun, relaxed shopping experience for beachgoers. Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers as they enter the store and offer assistance with finding products.

  • Provide product recommendations and answer questions about merchandise such as swimwear, beachwear, accessories and souvenirs.

  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

  • Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately including cash, credit, and digital payments.

  • Promote and upsell products including seasonal or promotional items.

  • Ensure correct pricing is applied and provide receipts to customers.

  • Organize and replenish displays, shelves and racks to maintain visual appeal.

  • Restock inventory and ensure items are correctly tagged and priced.

  • Assist with receiving and unpacking shipments checking for accuracy and quality.

  • Maintain a clean, organized and welcoming store environment including fitting rooms and checkout areas.

  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the manager.

  • Follow store opening and closing procedures including cleaning tasks.

  • Stay informed about current promotions, discounts and special events.

  • Assist with setting up and promoting in-store events or displays.

  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve sales goals and provide a positive work environment.

  • Support colleagues with tasks during busy periods or special events.

Required Qualifications / Skills:

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus but not required.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory counts.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.

  • Perform tasks that require bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
