This does not apply to service animals as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. “A service animal is trained to perform work or a task. The work or task must be directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.”
