Food Runner

Responsible to: Food and Beverage Management Team

Job Overview: This position will be responsible for assisting the servers in providing quality service to all guests and support the management team and all other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greets all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness.

  • Run food and beverages to guests in an accurate and efficient manner. 

  • Have ability to provide detailed description of every dish, both regular and special menu items. 

  • Learns and maintains full knowledge of menu, products and operating procedures.

  • Learn and maintain knowledge of all floorplans and table numbers.

  • Reports to work as scheduled, in uniform, well groomed, and ready to be in position. Always maintains a professional appearance.

  • Clean, stock and maintain Food Runner stations throughout service.

  • Completing assigned opening and closing side work.

  • Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices in accordance with health code standards.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Captain.

Secondary Duties/Responsibilities, but are not limited to:

  • Clearing and cleaning tables, wiping surfaces and removing dirty/empty plates, glasses, etc. 

  • Clean, maintain and stock all stations for start of service and throughout service.

  • Delivering water to all tables in their assigned section, assisting other section when necessary.

  • Polish cutlery, share plates and glassware.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age (If running alcoholic beverages).

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays.

  • Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule.

  • Must be hospitable, respectful towards colleagues and guests.

  • Excellent people skills and outgoing personality.

  • Fluent English speaking and written communication skills.

  • Ability to take direction, understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and must be a team player.

  • Ability to work calmly, quickly and effectively under pressure.

  • Detail oriented.

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.

  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.

  • Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the restaurant and property to others.

  • Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 45 pounds.

  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
